Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met Monday with Andrea Cascone, Director for the Western Balkans at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and discussed Macedonia’s European perspective.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, Director Cascone said that Macedonia deserves the opening of EU accession negotiations, for which Italy will continue to strongly engage.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the foreign policy and security priorities of the two countries in light of the war in Ukraine, as well as on deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the statement said.
