President Stevo Pendarovski and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed Tuesday overall bilateral relations, situation in the region, as well as Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic bid.

The two presidents assessed that both countries have excellent bilateral relations, politically and in many other areas of common interest, such as defense and security, economy and education. In the past year, the two countries achieved a trade exchange of $ 4.3 billion, and in 2019 that amount exceeds $ 1 billion, making Germany top the list of trade partners of North Macedonia, the President’s Office said.

President Steinmeier confirmed Germany’s firm support for Macedonia’s integration into the EU and NATO.
