The US has deposited its ratification on Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo informed on Twitter.

Pleased to announce the United States deposited its ratification of Macedonia’s NATO
Accession Protocol. One step closer to welcoming Macedonia as NATO’s 30th Ally!, the US Secretary of State informed.

The US Senate ratified Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol on October 22 this year.

There is only one ratification left for Macedonia to become a full-fledged member of NATO, given that in ten months the NATO accession protocol has been ratified by 28 of the 29 members.

It is also expected at the NATO Summit in London on Tuesday and Wednesday the final declaration will note that the country is welcomed as the 30th member.
