President Stevo Pendarovski, during his official visit to the Republic of Serbia, met Friday with the Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Maja Gojkovic.

At the meeting, as Pendarovski’s office informed, they exchanged views on bilateral relations between Macedonia and Serbia, and President Pendarovski expressed confidence that traditional friendship based on mutual respect and understanding would continue to be deepened, bearing in mind that both countries have a long shared historical and cultural tradition and shared goals for European integration.

Talks also focused on good parliamentary co-operation between the two countries, as well as the parliamentary dimension of the EU pre-accession process and experiences that could be exchanged between the two countries in view of the common strategic goal of EU membership.

President Pendarovski and the Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Gojkovic also talked about the current situation in the region, with President Pendarovski stressing the need to find thorough and sustainable solutions to regional issues in order to ensure lasting stability and prosperity for the entire region.
