A 54 year old prisoner died in the Idrizovo prison from a suspected heart attack and questions are raised about whether he received the proper medical care he needed.

Gengis Xhemail was sentenced to 13 years in prison after he killed Amel Zverotic in 2006. The murder was perpetrated over a debt of 100.000 EUR. He died only days after the sentence was confirmed by an Appeals Court.

According to media reports, Xhemail was complaining about health issues and was not able to receive proper care in the prison.
