The director of the Public Revenue Office Sanja Lukarevska sparked anger reactions on social media after she publicly supported the presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski on Friday.
She posted a photo with Pendarovski on Facebook, publicly supporting his presidential nomination and thus violating the principle of neutrality of the public administration during the elections.

As the head of the PRO, an institution that controls the money of all taxpayers, she cannot support any candidate, say some of the people who commented on social media. Lukarovska as an official who has access to all accounts of private individuals and legal entities, by expressing her support for Pendarovski opens a dilemma whether she will be objective in law enforcement when monitoring the financial statements and the accounts of other presidential candidates. In the history of the EU, there is no case where a head of the PRO or another similar institution is involved in a political election campaign.
