SDSM mayoral candidate in Bitola Hristo Kondovski acknowledged defeat and congratulated to the VMRO-DPMNE candidate Toni Konjanovski.

The elections were fair and democratic. We go on with life in Bitola as before. The people of Bitola decided where the city will go in the next four years. As a businessman, as an SDSM sympathizer and as a constructive person I will continue to support policies in Bitola, Kondovski said.

This was one of the main races of the evening, apart from Skopje and Ohrid. SDSM won Bitola with a 2:1 ratio against VMRO in 2017, but the people quickly turned against SDSM after the imposed name change and now it’s considered a bellwether city.
