Danela Arsovska declared victory in the mayoral race in Skopje. After facing brutal personal attacks from her opponent Petre Silegov and directly from Zoran Zaev, she now leads Silegov by over 20,000 votes and is cruising to victory.

My opponent was not only the former Mayor of Skopje but also the now outgoing Prime Minister, Arsovska said, alluding to the promise from Zaev to resign if he loses in Skopje.

Zaev tried to bring Arsovska down in the last week of the elections by spreading allegations that she has secretly obtained a dual Bulgarian citizenship and is a “Bulgarian agent”.

I can’t express how much it means to me that Skopje believed in my vision and chose to believe in human kindness, after all the black campaigns against me, Arsovska said.
