The SDSM led majority in Parliament will make another attempt to adopt an openly corrupt law that would hand over 33 million EUR to the Makpetrol oil company.
An attempt on Thursday evening failed, when VMRO members of Parliament filibustered the work of the Parliament, with long speeches and loud shouting.
The law is meant to over-estimate the GAMA gas pipeline linking Macedonia with Bulgaria, and to estimate Makpetrol’s share in it at 33 million EUR. Despite the lengthy, 15 year long court trial, the Zaev Government is now pushing for a settlement under a special law, which indicates worries about potential legal accountability for those who approve the settlement.
