Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov and VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Aleksandar Nikoloski had a debate on TV 24 on Wednesday. They faced off their views on what is happening in Macedonia, whether we will get a date for EU negotiations, corruption scandals, talks on PPO law.
The vice-president of the main opposition party said that VMRO-DPMNE has no problem if there is a indication of crime, but the problem is that SDSM does not want the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate “Racket” because Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is seeking amnesty, and therefore negotiations on the law are stalled. Dimitrov denied these allegations.
He pointed out that the problem in the negotiations is that Zoran Zaev demands that the new public prosecutor on the opposition’s proposal not be able to investigate cases that have been opened so far. Nikoloski explained that this means that the new prosecutor will not be able to investigate
the “Racket” case.
The paradox to be bigger, senior officials from Zoran Zaev’s office contact members of our political party and tell them that there will probably be no negotiation date and that is why they have no great interest into reaching an agreement on the the status of the Public prosecution, said Nikoloski.
