Media from Ohrid are reporting that there is a crack in the sewage system near the St. Stefan beach, and raw sewage is leaking on the beach and into the lake.

The pictures of the site are being shared just as the summer vacation season is kicking off.

Ohrid faces the danger of losing its coveted World heritage site designation given by UNESCO due to rampant development and lack of environmental standards. The state of the sewage system is one of the issues raised by UNESCO.
