Professor Gordana Siljanovska Davkova in Friday’s presidential debate on MRT 1, strongly criticized her opponent backed by SDSM, Stevo Pendarovski, because of his changing attitudes, primarily regarding the name of Macedonia.
She reminded the Macedonian public that Pendarovski had promised a compulsory referendum as well as a political consensus on one of the most important state and national issues, the name dispute.
Siljanovska reminded Pendarovski of his statement “who authorized you to discuss a geographical determinant”.
I have a serious problem with a president who changes attitudes. In the last elections in 2016, you clearly outlined the theses for the need for a compulsory referendum, a state consensus on the name. When were you right then or now, asked Siljanovska.
