Macedonian Roads informs that the armed robbery at the Skopje – Tetovo highway paytoll booth on Monday cost the company 140.000 denars (2.300 EUR).
The two attackers threatened employees and commuters at the eastern paytoll station with handguns while emptying the registers before fleeing on a motorcycle.
Zoran Kitanov, the recently appointed head of the public roads company, informed that the stations are secured with video feeds only, and that a security contractor was last hired in 2018.
