The Crisis Management Center declared a state of emergency in the municipality of Resen, which bore the brunt of yesterday’s powerful storm.
Gale force winds and heavy rain swept through Macedonia, and the damage caused in and around Resen was particularly serious. Trees, roofs and pylons were ripped, and the sprawling apple orchards were badly affected. Locals described the storm as a waterfall moving across the region. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Krani camping site was left without water and power, and a number of vacation houses were damaged.
