Gostivar Mayor doctor Arben Taravari, who is also the deputy leader of the Alliance of Albanians, expects that early elections will take place no later than a year from now.

Taravari said that the opposition formally began negotiations to form a new majority in Parliament, after SDSM, which leads the current coalition, badly lost in the local elections.

If talks for a new majority fail, early elections will take place no later than October 2022, Taravari said.

SDSM leader Zoran Zaev announced his resignation as Prime Minister and party leader yesterday, when the results were in, but today he began a series of choreographed statements and moves that indicate he will try to keep his position – as he got coalition partners to insist that the Government is stable and that he shouldn’t resign.
