French Ambassador to Macedonia, Christian Thimonier, today after the closing ceremony of the training dubbed “Identifying the origin of a fire-accident or criminal act” responding to a journalist question did not give a clear answer whether he believes that Macedonia needs early elections now, together with the presidential.
However, he said that the most important thing for the country at the moment is to successfully conduct the presidential election because it will affect its further integration into the EU.
“Early elections are not the topic of today’s event, early elections do not contribute and have no role in the development of civil protection. I think that things should be left to take place according to their course. There are more important issues than this, but the most important thing is to successfully conduct the presidential election, and the manner in which it will be conducted will be one step closer to you joining the EU,” Thimonier said in response to a journalist question.
