The latest assault carried out by Nebi Useini, DUI party boss for the region of Ohrid, prompted a response even from his own party. The untouchable businessman and Ohrid Council member will face repercussions, said Deputy Prime Minister Bujar Osmani, who is a top DUI official.

We were informed that, as soon as the non-selective process of demolishing unlawful buildings in Ohrid begins, it will begin with him. I say this because it is important that the process non-selective and nobody can politicize that process. Everybody will be held responsible for his actions, Osmani said.

Useini was involved in several violent incidents, the latest of which was today, and was also blasted over building a number of commercial properties without a permit, one of them right next to the iconic Cinar sycamore tree in downtown Ohrid.

Osmani said that the party won’t back Useini, but stopped short of announcing that he will be removed from the party.

Meanwhile, the opposition Alliance of Albanians informed that companies owned by Useini have won municipal contracts worth 225.000 EUR in the past two years. Useini famously applied for a contract to demolish unlawfully built housing while being the best known violator of the building codes in the city.

One of the contracts involves the management of the Bukovo dump site, which was set on fire several weeks ago, the Alliance of Albanians said in a press release.
The opposition party demands that Useini is held responsible for his physical assaults on fellow Council member, a building inspector and for the latest attack on a professor.
