VMRO-DPMNE spokesman Naum Stoilkovski said today that Zoran Zaev’s proposal for early elections in October 2020 is a “reasonable basis for negotiations”.

The opposition party demands early elections in light of the massive corruption and criminal scandal that enveloped Zaev’s Government, but so far Zaev was only willing to concede elections two months before they are regularly scheduled.

It is obvious that, under pressure from the numerous scandals, the outgoing Government is willing to accept the opposition proposal for early elections. It seems that the offered date, October next year, is a reasonable basis to talk on the issue, Stoilkovski said.
