In an interview with the Fokus magazine, VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski predicts that the opposition will beat Zaev’s coalition at the coming elections by at least 100.000 votes.

Our internal polls, but also the neutral polling, shows that if early general elections are held now, the difference will be at least 100.000 votes in our favor over SDSM, Mickoski said, while calling on Zaev to agree to early elections.

In the interview, Mickoski says that the numerous scandals involving Zaev are the reason why the public mood is such as it is.

I was not a Mayor and I have not been recorded asking for bribes to sell land in Strumica. Someone else did that. I did not participate in a corrupt construction of a shopping mall only to receive a presidential pardon later. We can’t expect reforms from a politician who was breaking the law all his life, Mickoski said, detailing Zaev’s scandals.

According to the opposition leader, the first task following the removal of Zaev’s Government will be to begin to reform the judiciary.
