Dimitar Kovacevski does not even know what the Government is doing behind his back, said the opposition VMRO-DPMNE party, after the Prime Minister feigned ignorance about the appointment of unqualified, politically linked candidates to desirable diplomatic posts in the US.

The Government apparently appoints consuls behind closed doors and then, when found out, retracts its decisions. Kovacevski is left as a pawn to silently witness what Bujar Osmani and Artan Grubi are doing to important posts in New York and Chicago, VMRO-DPMNE said in a statement.

The Government allegedly appointed Besmira Ejupi, a young TV host, as consul to New York, but later withdrew the decision. It also appointed Petrit Musliu, the son of pro-Government commentator Albert Musliu, as consul in Chicago.
