VMRO-DPMNE Secretary General Igor Janusev was jubilant as results poured in that the opposition presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova carried much of Macedonia, including many districts that SDSM won in 2016 and 2017.

The victory for justice is getting closer. VMRO-DPMNE is winning, the people are winning! Siljanovska is the choice of the people. We lead the SDSM candidate, who is also supported by DUI, DPA, LDP, NSDP, the entire Government. You can’t go against the people, Janusev said.

He noted the lead Siljanovska has in cities such as Bitola, Stip, Veles, Kocani, Negotino, Ohrid, Prilep, Sveti Nikole.., all of them returning to the VMRO fold. Some of the crucial Skopje districts like Aerodrom also turned back toward supporting VMRO, as did Butel, Gazi Baba and Kisela Voda.

As Janusev was speaking, a crowd began to gather in front of the main VMRO-DPMNE office in downtown Skopje. As the results keep coming, the spirits there are getting noticeably higher.
