If it were not tragic it would be funny. Today, when 40 families from Macedonia lost their loved ones, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is going around Europe… At a time when the victims are being counted here, he is receiving a human rights award in Berlin. While the Macedonian healthcare is on the verge of collapse, powerless to deal with the pandemic, while the Government kneels before Covid-19, Zaev travels and receives awards, no more and no less, for human rights. Where are the human rights of patients. Where are the rights of those who have been paying for health insurance for over 30 years, to now pay for a Covid-19 test in private and not have a hospital bed while fighting for breath. Where are the rights of all those patients who buy vitamin therapy, which, believe it or not, costs almost 100 euros? Talk about human rights…

While people complain about the poor conditions in hospitals, while the death toll shows that Macedonia has a hard time dealing with Covid-19, Zaev boasted that he freed the country from partisanship and brought professionalism. As a consolation, he emphasized that the money from the award will be donated to our state health solidarity fund in the fight against Covid-19.

I would be lying if I said that the past four years have been easy. No, first we had to free the country from the shackles of partisanship and bring professionalism, a process that is great, lasts and will last until final freedom, said Zaev.

He added that the two agreements with the neighbors are a key tool with which history is used to build the future, to create new bridges of cooperation.

The human rights and the right to self-determination of every citizen cannot be the subject of diplomatic negotiations and agreements. They are affirmed and guaranteed principles of international public law and its benefits. That is why the fact that the Macedonian language and the Macedonian people are a reality is undeniable, Zaev said.

He dedicated this award to all generations who have built and are building the state, and to everyone who has contributed to the formation of solid foundations of peace and freedom.
