Education inspector Georgi Ilievski, who blew the whistle on the Tetovo University, where Education Minister Arber Ademi and Deputy Interior Minister Agim Nuhiu were illegally hired at the university, claims that the Ministry is attempting to cover up the scandal.
Ilievski says that one of his superior inspectors, Afrim Saliu, who has a conflict of interest and has already pressured him to shut up about the scandal, has been appointed to ‘examine” the facts of the case. Saliu and the head of the education inspection service, Tome Spiroski, threatened Ilievski with “consequences” if he doesn’t withdraw his report which found irregularities in the state run university and furthermore, Saliu’s daughter works there providing a conflict of interest.
His attempt to perform an inspection there is in violation of the law. His daughter works at the very faculty which we are investigating, Ilievski said, while naming other inspectors present during a meeting when he was threatened by Saliu and Spiroski.
Minister Ademi denies the allegations and said that he will wait for the inspection to investigate the case of his appointment. He adds that he worked at the university before being named minister and wants to have his position retained.
