The new electricity prices have increased the bills in the hospitals in the clinical center Mother Teresa, the “September 8” hospital and the “Naum Ohridski” hospital, reports Kanal 5.

The Infectious Diseases Clinic got the highest electricity bill amounting to almost 27 thousand euros in one month, while the “September 8” hospital has a debt of 240 thousand euros for electricity and gas.

The Infectious Diseases Clinic says that 730 thousand euros were spent in two years for the supply of oxygen that was needed by almost every patient in the hospital. The high number of covid patients and their treatment has brought extremely high consumption bills.

The Infectious Diseases Clinic explains that they are working on reorganization, but next to change and renovation is the equipment in the covid wards that were used to the maximum.

Sources told Kanal 5 that a meeting between ELEM and the Ministry of Health should be held in the coming days.
