A woman from Skopje had to be hospitalized after she was attacked by a street dog in the Zelezara district. The 49 year sustained injuries to her leg and had to be taken to the Mother Teresa clinic for treatment and to receive the anti-rabies treatment.

Local residents told the Sitel TV that the dog in question has often acted violently and would attack people.

The Skopje dog catching service has not operated for a while now, as rival groups of animal rights activists are trying to take over the main shelter, while pushing policies opposed to removal of stray animals from the streets.
