The Anti-Corruption Commission began an investigation into Government Secretary General Dragi Raskovski, who was suspected of influencing a contract to procure air traffic control equipment by the state run M-NAV agenc worth 7.7 million EUR.

Raskovski denied the allegations, despite the meeting being secretly recorded. The audio revelas he instructed M-NAV officials to move ahead with the procurement from the Italian Leonardo company despite legal issues with its bid

The Commission also said it will investigate Saso Vasilevski, who was until recently the chief manager of the lucrative state run MEPSO energy company. As a close personal friend of disgraced Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, Vasilevski has reportedly purchased a very under-priced apartment from a businessman who Janeva was investigating. It was reported in the press that the sweetheart deal on the apartment was part of the plan to extort money from the businessman.

Another official from the ruling SDSM – DUI coalition is being investigated – Nefi Useini, municipal councillor from Ohrid has been involved in a series of incidents and the Commission will investigate him over his unlawful construction of a pizza restaurant.
