State prosecutors rejected a request from the Anti-Corruption Commission (DKSK) to initiate charges against Nikola Jankuloski, the Rector of the public university Ss Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. Jankuloski did not suspend his position as professor at the university’s medical clinic, which according to corruption watchdog is a criminal violation.
The Skopje office of state prosecutors informed that they have investigated the DKSK proposal and found that, in their opinion, Jankuloski was not obliged to give up his job as professor while also serving as Rector. The prosecutor’s office also informed that previous rectors had similar arrangements
