Israeli media said that hundreds of protesters protested against Israel’s ongoing battle with Hamas in the Gaza Strip late on Thursday in Tel Aviv.
According to the Israeli daily Haaretz, the demonstrators called for a halt to the violence in the strip, the release of the captives detained there, and an end to Israeli occupation.
According to Haaretz, hundreds of young people from cities close to the Gaza Strip also staged a protest demanding the hostages’ release in front of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, in Jerusalem.
On October 7, nearly 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered by Hamas terrorists and other groups in the bloodiest massacre in Israel’s history, which set off the Gaza War. Moreover, more than 200 captives were taken, a sizable quantity of whom have since been released.
The attack prompted Israel to bombard the coastal strip and launch an extensive ground operation. According to the Hamas-controlled health authority, around 21,320 people have been killed so far. As part of a truce, 105 captives were freed one month ago. Nearly 130 individuals are reportedly still being detained in the coastal strip, according to Israeli sources.
Israelis have been demonstrating against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration on a regular basis, claiming it is not doing enough to secure the release of the remaining hostages.
