European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, speaking at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), called on supporters of Ukraine to bolster their resistance against Russia’s ongoing invasion. Urging for increased arms and financial support for Ukraine, von der Leyen stressed the importance of standing firm in the face of the conflict.
In her address at the global forum held in the Swiss ski resort of Davos, von der Leyen emphasized the need for “predictable financing throughout 2024 and beyond,” highlighting outstanding commitments from the European Union. She expressed confidence in Ukraine’s ability to succeed in the war, citing Kiev’s achievements in liberating territories captured by Russia as evidence of resilience and determination.
