A powerful earthquake measuring 7.3 degrees on the Richter scale was reported near Japan, off the coast of Fukushima. The area is now under a tsunami watch.

Fukushima was hit by a strong tsunami in 2011, which caused radioactive materials to flow out of the nuclear plant located near the coast, causing one of the worst radioactive disasters in history.
