Macedonia lost against Iceland in the World handball championship in Munich, costing it a chance to play in the final rounds. Instead, Macedonia will fight for a place between the 13th and 16th seed.
Coach Raul Gonzales’ team had a narrow lead for most of the game and was very solid in the first half. But, Iceland was more focused in the final minutes and after winning its first lead of the match in the 45th minute, they eventually brought the win home – 24:22.
Dejan Manaskov and Kire Lazarov scored five goals each and were best attackers in the Macedonian team, while Borko Ristovski had 12 saves.
