Around 100 miners were trapped inside a mine in the Kosovo’s town of Mitrovica after an alleged elevator malfunction. But authorities announced that an alternative solution has been found and miners have been rescued and are in good health.
The head of the trade union of Trepca miners, Shyqyri Sadiku, told on Tuesday Gazeta Express that around 100 miners were trapped 700 meters underground when an elevator used for their transportation went out of order due to some electricity malfunctioning. Later Trepca authorities announced that they have found an alternative solution and rescused all the trapped miners.
