Aleksandar Kiracovski, head of SDSM Election Headquarters at a press conference after the polling stations closed, said that the Republic of Macedonia today had Scandinavian elections that the voting took place in an exceptionally peaceful atmosphere. Kiracovski thanked the citizens and congratulated them for Sunday’s peaceful election day.

Today’s elections took place in an exceptionally peaceful atmosphere. We had Scandinavian elections that resemble our country. We congratulate all citizens who have exercised their right to vote in a dignified and democratic manner. Election day took place in a fair and democratic atmosphere. The elections were peaceful, fair and regular. I thank the institutions that enabled the elections to run smoothly. I thank the citizens who used their right to vote in large numbers. We expect the first unofficial results to declare Stevo Pendarovski as a winner in the first round. To elect a president in a crystal clear election that unites and leads forward, Kiracovski said at a press conference.
