Following a devastating car accident in Skopje, in which a 24 year old girl was killed on a pedestrian crossing by a 21 year old driver, the police is conducting mass controls of drivers.

Yesterday, officers descended on Bitola, where 11 drivers were caught driving while intoxicated.  This is out of 248 drivers who were stopped. The Interior Ministry warned drivers that these controls will continue in the coming days.
