Protests are planned for the Kosovan city of Gjakovica today, against the arrest of a former Albanian guerrilla Tomor Morina in Macedonia.
Morina was arrested on a Serbian war crimes warrant routed through Interpol, as he tried to enter Macedonia. Kosovan authorities have formally protested the arrest, insisting that Morina is not a Serbian citizen. Leaders of ethnic Albanian parties in Macedonia have also protested, declaring Morina a hero of the UCK/KLA group. Deputy Prime Minister Bujar Osmani called on the courts to release Morina as soon as possible and to ignore the Interpol arrest warrant.
