The Brookings Institution denies that Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov is preparing to join its ranks. According to our sources, Dimitrov has already announced to Prime Minister Zoran Zaev that he intends to leave the Government and take a lucrative offer in D.C. after receiving an invitation from Victoria Nuland.
In a tweet reply, Brookings also denies that its scholar and former US diplomat Amanda Sloat was involved in preparing the Prespa treaty, which renames and redefines Macedonia.
False. There are no plans for this individual to join Brookings. Re: Prespa Agreement, also false. Governments of Greece and N. Macedonia drafted & negotiated the Agreement in coordination with the UN. No Brookings scholars were involved in that process, Brookings writes in its response.
