Powerful Bitola based businessman Siljan Micevski was also questioned today, over the racketeering allegations raised against disgraced Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva and showman Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13. Micevski already testified before the prosecutors about the scandal.

Micevski’s construction company signed a contract worth 1.5 million EUR for a broadly defined “cooperation contact” with a bogus charity set up by Boki 13, and paid half of the agreed sum, for unspecified “services”. The charity was pitching a proposal to build subsidized homes for the elderly in several locations across Macedonia, and it is believed that Boki 13’s plan was to turn the projects around into commercial developments once the most desirable locations would be got on the pretext of building a humanitarian project.

It’s speculated in the public whether Micevski was hoping to use Boki 13’s influence in the ruling SDSM party to obtain approval for such a development in Bitola, or if he was actually blackmailed by Boki 13 and threatened with criminal charges from Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva – the preferred way in which Boki 13 obtained money from his marks.

Micevski was photographed entering the OJO state prosecutor’s office just as game show host Lila Filipovska, one of Boki 13’s closest associates, was leaving. Filipovska is believed to be a potential target of the investigation, as she made suspicious payments to Boki 13 and was with Boki as he tried to flee for Greece on July 15th, the day he was arrested. On leaving the prosecutor’s office, Filipovska only asked the press to stand back and be careful not to ruin her hair.
