Very high 26 coronavirus deaths were reported by the Healthcare Ministry over the past 24 hours. This is one of the worst tolls of the epidemic, and took the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 1,136. The deceased patients aged 49 to 88. Skopje, Prilep and Tetovo reported four deaths and Ohrid – three.

The Ministry also reported that there were 978 newly diagnosed patients, out of a total of 2,667 tests. Skopje had nearly 400 new cases, Tetovo is close to 100 and Gostivar has 49. There are now 15,589 active cases across the country, half of them in Skopje, 2,666 in Kumanovo, 1,794 in Prilep and 1,032 in Bitola.

The list of clinics receiving patients in Skopje, where the most serious cases are sent, is now growing with the conversion of lesser used clinics into Covid-19 wards. There are over 340 adults treated in five separate clinics and 11 children. Four of the patients are on mechanical ventilation and 134 are receiving supplemental oxygen. The Bitola hospital treats 71 patients and the one in Stip has 57. Both serve as regional Covid centers. Other general hospitals across the country have nearly 500 patients.
