Regarding inflation, because we are an import-dependent country and we import most of our products, the reality is that prices will rise. But can the state do anything, of course yes. We from VMRO-DPMNE proposed the state to give up the VAT on basic food products that are important to the citizens by the end of 2022, said the vice president of VMRO-DPMNE, Gordana Kocoska Dimitrieska in an interview with TV Sitel.

She stressed that if the government accepts the proposal of VMRO-DPMNE, it will alleviate the price shock and will provide a better standard of living to the citizens, especially the most vulnerable categories and those with the lowest incomes.

Citizens use most of the money to buy food, and we know how much prices have risen, so this will mean a lot to them. At the same time, in the set of measures we have proposed, we demand exemption from paying the heat energy tax, reduction of excises. By reducing the excises, the prices of the products are reduced or the growth is mitigated, emphasized Dimitrieska Kocoska.

She pointed out that in the set of measures VMRO-DPMNE also requires that the VAT on electricity remains at the same level of 5% by the end of the year, so that citizens can save there, but the government and Power Plants of Macedonia do not work as they should be.
