After 18 years in power, DUI is going into opposition for the first time.
After Friday’s agreement reached by VMRO-DPMNE, AA, Alternativa, BESA and Levica, the parties secured a majority in Parliament. That is enough for a vote of no confidence and a change of government.
DUI leader Ali Ahmeti said he will not act with emotions and euphoria, but that he is in constant communication with his partners.
But, realistically, DUI has a lot to regret.
In the Government of SDSM, DUI has 6 ministerial and 106 director positions. Ahmeti’s party members have 206 positions on boards and commissions, 306 tenders per year, 1,006 contract jobs.
Ali Ahmeti, Artan Grubi, Talat Xhaferi, Fatmir Besimi, Ejup Rustemi… who more, who are less, have been in power for more than 18 years and many consider them a shadow government.
