Parents of elementary school children are sharing online a song that was apparently introduced into the first grade curriculum, in which the children are taught that their country is called “North Macedonia”.
The school year that started this month is the first following the Prespa treaty, and the Zaev regime is under pressure to deliver before the Greek Government, and to show that it will impose the name “North Macedonia” on the public. But the response online, at this attempt to push the name onto the children, has been overwhelmingly negative.
The parents are confused as their children are lied to that “the whole word sings about North Macedonia”, as the poem says. If our ancestors, while living under foreign occupation, taught their children that what is said in school is not true, then what right do we have to submit to this illegitimate Government?, said professor Biljana Vankovska in response to the incident.
