In an interview, Gostivar Mayor Arben Taravari revealed that several months ago he was intimidated in his home by thugs from the DUI party. Taravari won re-election against the DUI candidate Nevzat Bejta, even after DUI abused its power at the central level to threaten him and his supporters.

I had four DUI bandits come to my home, we have them recorded on camera. I called the Interior Minister to protest, and he told me to report it to the local police station. It’s as good as reporting the attack at the DUI headquarters. Now imagine what they do to ordinary citizens if they intimidate the Mayor three months before the elections this way, Taravari said.

Days before the second round of the elections, a video from Gostivar was shared showing several DUI thugs attacking an activist from Taravari’s Alliance of Albanians.
