The government wants to sell the Slavija company for 200,000 euros, even though the property of the state-owned joint stock company is worth 20 million euros, reveals the opposition VMRO-DPMNE.

According to the party, the Agency for Confiscated Property scheduled an auction two days before New Year’s Day for the sale of the shares of the Slavija company.

The starting price is 218,535 euros, or 50 euros per share. When an attempt was made to sell the company in 2012, the government then valued the shares at 1,715 euros. The Slavija company has a huge property. The administrative building alone is worth 9 million euros, and the rest of the property is located throughout Macedonia. The claims for salaries and contributions, as well as for other debts is three to five million euros, the party accuses.

VMRO-DPMNE fears that large-scale state-owned property will be privatized through scams at an auction scheduled under dubious circumstances for a small sum of money.

The party’s spokesman, Dimce Arsovski, doubts that the sale that will be made in the last days of the year will be in favor of a businessman close to the government and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
