Grubi and the Government are plunging the country into an artificial crisis by raising the dispute with Bulgaria to the level of a security issue, VMRO-DPMNE said.

The dispute with Bulgaria is not a security issue, nor a dispute that has a security character. Grubi and the government’s attempt to build negotiations on that thesis is defeating for the country. Macedonia is a NATO member, and thus all security issues are closed. Within the borders of the country there is a Ministry of Interior that guards the security. The government should not find excuses for new concessions and humiliations.The Macedonian positions guaranteed by the Declaration proposed by VMRO-DPMNE are clear, and it is supported by all parties in the parliament and nothing outside it must be done. We expect Bulgaria in the spirit of European values and good neighborly policies not to hinder Macedonia towards the EU. The progress of the state is deserved by the citizens, the statement reads.
