December is the target for the agreement to overcome differences with Sofia but time is short and that is why January is not excluded as an option for a date to start EU accession negotiations, says Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov.

He stressed that the current EU presidency, Slovenia has a strategic interest “to move the region towards the European Union”, reminding that after it the EU presidency will be taken over by France, where presidential elections are scheduled for spring.

Although the preference is December, I hear from several capitals in Europe that January still remains an option to succeed, which gives us maybe a little more time, although I think our focus should be on December, Dimitrov told TV 24.
