With a religious service, a company of horse riders left for its traditional ride to Krusevo, to honor the memory of the Ilinden Uprising.

The 20 riders headed out from Lisice, in Skopje, after a service in the church of St. Peter and Paul. Over the next five days they will ride to Krusevo, where they will attend the traditional Ilinden ceremony at Meckin Kamen – the site of the famous last stand of the rebels fighting the Ottoman forces in 1903.

Three girls are in the group – Dragan Kalovska and Elena Miseva are veterans of the ride, while 17 year old Marija Stamboliska joined it for the first time.

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski attended the service and the send-off of the riders.
