Some of the employees in the public administration, where the minimum wage is already paid, again received a salary of 14,500 denars, as they received before, when the Law on Minimum Wage was also violated, according to which it was 15,194 denars until February. According to the president of the Trade Union of Administrative Workers, Judicial Bodies and Citizens’ Associations (UPOZ), Trpe Deanovski, there is no employee in the administration whose salary has been increased to receive the current legal amount for the minimum wage. He says that today and tomorrow they will protest to show their dissatisfaction.

On April 7 and 8, the entire administration and judiciary, all funds and agencies, will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Not only did the employees not receive a gradual increase in salaries, but a large part of the employees who had a salary below 18,000 denars, still received such salaries. This means that the state is violating the Law on Minimum Wages. On the other hand, under the same law, state inspectors enter private companies and punish them. It is a division, both for the employees and the employers, Deanovski told “Sloboden Pecat”.
