In an open letter, VMRO-DPMNE Secretary General Igor Janusev addresses the Zaev regime, warning them that they will soon be held accountable before the law. “All the money you extorted and the deals with the underworld you are making will not help you remain in power after the elections next year”, Janusev tells the ruling party as it teeters with a number of major corruption scandals and its failure to get the EU accession process unlocked despite the humiliating name change.
All of your lies were debunked. You said we will get a date to open accession talks, that you won’t allow early elections, that you will break open the judiciary. We know your plans, the ballot stuffing, getting your para-police to pressure people ahead of the vote. The public sees through you. We know you are planning a repeat of all these abuses, but it won’t work this time, you’re just dragging more of your people down with you, Janusev writes in his open letter.
Janusev pointed to the disgraced former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, whose images as she was escorted from prison and into house arrest, filled the airwaves this week, saying that the ongoing feud between factions of judges and prosecutors loyal to the Zaev regime is being staged.
We are seeing an orchestrated scenario from Zaev who wants to shift blame for the abuses and corruption in the judiciary from his own hands into the hands of his enforcers in the judiciary. It’s a transparent scenario, a feigned dispute trying to portray the court as culpable for releasing Janeva from detention and prosecutor Ruskoska is sent to shout down the court. It is even less believable than the argument between Justice Minister Renata Deskoska and judge Dzolev over court funding. All of these arguments include people who are two sides of the same coin, and have Zaev in common among them, Janusev adds, adding that even the terms used by the judges and prosecutors, such as Ruskoska’s “quake in your pants” comment, are lifted from Zaev’s own vocabulary.
Janusev says that the “fall of this Government is certain and to be expected, as the public wants to defeat those who have inflicted a series of defeats on their country”. He asks on the outgoing Government to be careful not to inflict any more harm on the country and its people and promises help for the patriots persecuted by the Zaev regime.
You will not be helped by your lies that VMRO is allegedly an anti-western option. The denial came from the European People’s Party summit, where our leader Mickoski said that “as Macedonians we belong to the European family and share the European values”. VMRO will win strongly and convincingly, as this is the battle of our lives for most of us. This is not a fight for power, this is a fight for the future we believe in, Janusev concludes.
