The head of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (ZNM) Mladen Cadikovski met with prosecutors from the Special Prosecutors Office, to demand they end their case against Zoran Bozinovski, charged with espionage as part of a broad case that involved former intelligence
officers and journalists.
The allegations in the case include attempts to extort money from businessmen under threat that if the funds are not paid, the journalists will publish damaging information about them.
Bozinovski, who usually operates from Serbia, is known for publishing speculations about politicians and businessmen in Macedonia. He famously faced direct threats from the DUI party after a leaked audio recording revealed an affair involving a DUI official and a female
member of Parliament.
ZNM considers Bozinovski a legitimate journalist and demands that he is protected.
