Addressing the public on Saturday, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski, said that the security situation in Macedonia is stable, that at this moment there is no direct threat to its security.
Citizens need to be calm, because as a NATO member, we can enjoy and count on the protection offered by the most powerful defense alliance in the world. Therefore, I assure you that our security is safe, said Kovacevski.
However, he added, there is a threat to the economy and challenges are coming from the economic level.
Due to Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, the global economic and energy crisis is now deepening. An uncertain year awaits us, where the economies in Europe and in the world will suffer. I would like to assure you that the Government is closely monitoring the changes in the European and world economic trends and, as before, will act responsibly and in the best interest of protecting the interests of the citizens. We have increased salaries, pensions will increase, we financially support companies, said Kovacevski.
He added that global markets were hardest hit by the Russo-Ukrainian war, and that our exposure to these two economies was small.
